Carapace Lunga Attesa 2018 was awarded 5 Grappoli by Bibenda

A significant new achievement enriches the journey of Tenute Lunelli: the Carapace Lunga Attesa 2018, Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, has received 5 Grappoli in the 2026 edition of the Guida Bibenda, a benchmark for the finest Italian winemaking.
Born from the grapes of the historic Vigna al Pozzo vineyard, Carapace Lunga Attesa stands out as a distinguished expression of Montefalco Sagrantino. The 2018 vintage combined a perfect balance between harmony and structure, thanks to an ideal climate throughout the growing season. After a long aging process in wood, terracotta, and steel, the wine displays an intense and vibrant ruby hue; its bouquet reveals aromas of ripe fruit and forest floor, while on the palate it is rich and enveloping, promising great potential for aging.
The name “Carapace” pays tribute to the winery itself – a sculptural masterpiece designed by Arnaldo Pomodoro – embodying a unique vision where art, nature and wine come together in harmony.
The Guida Bibenda 2026, available from November 22nd in app and online versions, rewarded the work of those, like Tenute Lunelli, who honour and continuously reinvent Italy’s illustrious winemaking tradition.
